O'Sullivan to press ahead with Junior Cert reform

The Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan has confirmed that she will continue with plans to reform the Junior Cert.

The ASTI called off a third strike over the issue but has said their members will not co-operate with the changes which include teachers marking their own students’ exam papers.

A meeting was held yesterday during which full details of the new Junior Cert were unveiled.

O'Sullivan added she hopes the unions will start engaging with the department on the issue.
