Clare man willing to take in refugees after seeing harrowing image of Aylan Kurdi

A Co Clare man, who has been moved by the images of the dead Syrian toddler Aylan Kurdi, says he is willing to foster or adopt one of the refugees.

He is also urging other like-minded families to do the same.

Aiden O'Neill says the children could be taken in by families in Ireland until their own families get back on their feet.

The salesman from Ennis is setting up a Facebook page.

He said: "I'm actually setting up a Facebook page as we speak and the Facebook page is going to be called the 'Aylan Kurdi Shelter'.

"There is a meeting in two weeks' time in Brussels, an emergency meeting, and I would love to furnish Enda Kenny with a list of 600-odd families who would be willing to do the same."
