Man charged after cross-country car chase

A man's been charged and a car has been seized following a cross-country garda chase.

At around 7.15pm yesterday, a vehicle was taken during an incident in Roscommon Town.

It was spotted on the M4 near Palmerstown in Dublin less than two hours later and was pursued by officers when it failed to stop for inspection.

Gardaí managed to stop it on St John's Road West where they then chased the driver on foot.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged. He is due before Dublin District Court next month.
