Pair arrested by gardaí targeting organised crime in Cork

Gardaí have arrested two men and recovered stolen property as part of an ongoing investigation targeting organised crime in Co Cork.

Two men, aged in their 30s and 40s respectively, were arrested yesterday during a search and arrest operation involving Gardaí from Cork City, Cork North & West Divisions along with members of the Regional Support Unit and Dog Unit.

Six locations were searched in the Cork city and county areas during the operation. Two boat engines were seized.

The two men are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Cobh Garda Station.

The operation is part of a coordinated investigation into the activities of an organised crime group involved in the distribution of stolen property, marine theft and an aggravated burglary in Co Cork.
