Figures show a dramatic drop in the number of priests serving in Catholic dioceses in Ireland.

There are now 2,019 in active ministry.

This represents a drop of 43% on twenty years ago.

A little over 67% of that number are over the age of 55.

This means the Church could be facing a crisis unless some more younger men join.
