Emergency services are responding to what is believed to have been an explosion in the County Cork village of Ballinspittle.

Emergency services are responding to what is believed to have been an explosion in the County Cork village of Ballinspittle.

The incident is thought to have happened at Diva Boutique Bakery Cafe & Deli in the village.

It is reported that a gas cylinder was being changed when the explosion occurred, followed by a small fire.

The fire was quickly brought under control, however two men - one in his 50s and another in his 30s - are thought to have received burn injuries.

They have been brought to Cork University Hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The village has been sealed off and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
