The hotel in Co Tipperary where the GAA was founded has sold at auction today for €650,000.

The hotel in Co Tipperary where the GAA was founded has sold at auction today for €650,000.

The historic Hayes Hotel in Thurles, Co Tipperary, went under the hammer with a reserve of €500,000.

Auctioneers Alsopp say the identity of the new owner is not immediately available as bidding was conducted by a solicitor on their behalf.
