Latest: Park Road in Mallow closed due to flooding; Motorists advised to take extra care amid status yellow rainfall warning
Motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads this evening, with some routes being affected by flooding.
The Park Road in Mallow is now flooded and closed to traffic and likely to remain so until tomorrow evening.
Cork County Council is confident there will not be flooding to properties or businesses in Mallow or Fermoy.

Met Éireann have a status yellow warning for heavy rain in place for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford until midnight.
Up to 50 millimetres are expected to fall in worst-affected areas.
Rain will continue to be persistent and heavy in parts of Leinster and east Munster this evening. The rain will tend to more intermittent elsewhere. There is an ongoing risk of localised flooding. Cork County Council has erected flood barriers in Mallow and Fermoy as a precaution during Met Éireann's status yellow rainfall warning.
Possible flooding of the Park Road in Mallow this evening may result in its closure for a period of time.
While some localised flooding may occur there is no expectation of flood risk to properties or businesses in these areas.
Motorists are asked to exercise extreme caution due to surface water on roads.
Cork County Council is continuing to monitor the situation.
Status Yellow weather warnings in place today
Met Éireann has issued a number of status yellow weather warnings around the country.
A wind warning is in place for Leinster, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford until 6pm.
Southeast winds will reach speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h.
Winds will be strongest along southern areas at first but gradually extending to all parts of Leinster by late morning and afternoon.
A rainfall warning is in place for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford until midnight.
Periods of heavy rain will lead to accumulations of 30 to 50mm generally, with some larger amounts on higher ground.
Some localised flooding is expected.
A similar rainfall warning for Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary is in place until 3pm today.
