Taoiseach's office receives final report on Garda Commissioner resignation

Enda Kenny's office has received the final report into the resignation of former Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan.

It has been confirmed that the report from the Fennelly Commission was received at the Department of the Taoiseach this evening.

The report deals with the series of events and meetings that led to Mr Callinan controversially stepping down as Ireland's top Garda in March 2014.

The Department said that the report will be published as soon as possible - but it will first have to be checked by the Attorney General to ensure it does not affect any criminal proceedings.
