Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of Benjamin (Benny) Whitehouse last September have arrested two people.

Benjamin Whitehouse was shot dead in broad daylight at Clonard Street in Balbriggan on September 25, 2014.

He had just dropped his child off at St Peter and Paul's National School nearby. His partner - who was with him - was shot in the leg.

A 34-year-old man and a woman aged 28 were arrested last night in Co Dublin.

They are being detained in Balbriggan and Swords Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
