Two separate investigations are underway after a man died following an industrial accident in Co. Louth yesterday.

Two separate investigations are underway after a man died following an industrial accident in Co. Louth yesterday.

It happened at around 3:30pm, at the Premier Periclase plant on the Boyne Road in Drogheda.

It is believed the 46-year-man old sustained head injuries. He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he died a short time later.

A post mortem examination will be carried out later today.

An Garda Síochána and the Health and Safety Authority are set to investigate.
