Udaras na Gaeltacht says investment and regional development funding has led to job creation in Gaeltacht areas.
The authority says the number of new jobs in these areas is at its highest level since 2008.
Figures for 2014 show that more than 7,600 jobs were created by client companies in 2014, and of these, 100 jobs were created by 28 new start-ups.
Communications and marketing manager with Udaras na Gaeltachta, Siubhan Nic Grianna, says investment has boosted employment.
She said: "We very much welcome the focus that Government has put on regional development and optimising regonal development.
"We have seen that businesses are not likely to invest as quickly in more rural areas, and intervention and state supports are required outside of the main cities to do so.
"So definitely this is very good news for the Gaeltacht area."
