American firm Beckman Coulter is closing its facility in Galway, with the loss of up to 70 jobs.

Medical supplies firm to close Galway plant (70 jobs to go)

American firm Beckman Coulter is closing its facility in Galway, with the loss of up to 70 jobs.

One hundred and forty staff are currently employed at the plant.

The company, which makes components for medical equipment, has said it will transfer 70 to 80 staff to its facility in Co Clare.

The Galway plant will close by the end of next year.
