A 13-year-old boy who was seriously injured in a collision on Saturday has died as a result of his injuries.

A 13-year-old boy who was seriously injured in a collision on Saturday has died as a result of his injuries.

The boy, who was cycling his bike on the N51, Slane Road in Drogheda, Co. Louth at the time died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda last night.

The driver of the car involved in the incident was uninjured.

Gardaí in Drogheda are asking for help from anyone who travelled this road between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Saturday, August 21 to contact them on 041 9874200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
