A man has appeared before a special sitting of Ennis District Court charged in connection with false imprisonment and possession of a firearm in Sixmilebridge.

A man has appeared before a special sitting of Ennis District Court charged in connection with false imprisonment and possession of a firearm in Sixmilebridge.

Thomas Howard (aged 50) of Gortnaminch, Listowel, Co Kerry has been charged with three counts of false imprisonment and one count of possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence at Donnybrook, Sixmilebridge on Thursday last.

There was no application for bail.

Judge Marie Keane remanded the accused in custody to appear before Ennis District Court next Wednesday morning.
