Gardaí renew appeal over Dublin stabbing - seek taxi drivers as witnesses

Gardaí in Dublin are renewing their appeal for information after a woman was stabbed in the city centre last week.

The woman, who was in her 40s, was seriously injured in the incident at School Street in Dublin 8 last Tuesday morning September 23, just before 8 o'clock.

A man in his 40s was arrested a short time later and has since been charged in connection with the incident.

Investigating Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to any taxi drivers who were working in the area at the time.

They are making a particular appeal to any taxi or hackney drivers who may have picked up a man in the vicinity of Marrowbone Lane - James Street and brought him to Phibsboro.

The man is described as being around 5 foot 7 inches in height - in his late 40s - of stocky build with grey hair and a grey goatee beard, and was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kevin Street Garda Station.
