Cocaine worth an estimated £1.2m (€1.39m) has been seized by police in Belfast.

The drugs were found when officers stopped a car on the West Bank Road in Belfast on Friday night. A 28-year-old man was arrested.

Officers from the PSNI's Reactive and Organised Crime Branch carried out the operation.

Detective Inspector Keith Galway said: "We are delighted to have removed this large amount of dangerous drugs off the streets of Northern Ireland. We are committed to making Northern Ireland a hostile environment for those individuals involved in drugs criminality."
