Gardaí investigating the latest carjacking incident to hit the capital have charged a 31-year-old man.

He is due to appear in court tomorrow morning.

A 58-year-old taxi driver was threatened and assaulted at knife point by a man before being forced from his car in a shopping centre carpark in Palmerstown on Friday night.

The taxi was later intercepted by Gardaí at a filling station in Maynooth and the 31-year-old man was arrested.
