Government development agency Irish Aid says Ireland's partner countries are making real progress in the fight against poverty and hunger.
Irish Aid's 2014 annual report, published today, says Ireland provided more than €85m in humanitarian assistance and 269 tonnes of essential humanitarian supplies - such as blankets and tents - to those most in need.
The agency says its work in rural Ethiopia has contributed to a 70% reduction in deaths during childbirth.
Meanwhile in Mozambique, Irish support for training and recruiting teachers contributed to a 9% increase in the enrolment of girls in school.
