Two Women Travel pair appeal for sensitivity during abortion debate

One of the women behind the Two Women Travel Twitter account has spoken about the difficulties they faced in traveling to England for an abortion.

Earlier this year, they gained thousands of followers as they documented the journey from Ireland to terminate a pregnancy.

It comes as the Citzens' Assembly meets over the next number of months to decide on whether Ireland should hold a referendum on abortion.

Speaking publicly for the first time today, they ha've urged interested parties to be sensitive to both sides of the debate.

"Abortion is never take lightly," she said.

"Woman's reproductive rights are the most important thing in their lives and for a woman to get pregnant and get pregnant and not wish to continue that pregnancy - for her to have an abortion is not a flip decision, and to suggest that is so hurtful."
