A 59-year-old man has died after a house fire in Cork overnight.

A 59-year-old man has died after a house fire in Cork overnight.

The blaze broke out on High street in Drimoleague at around 1am..

Emergency services attended the scene but the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem is due to be carried out later this morning.

It is believed the cause of the fire was accidental.
