Charity shops to remain on Grafton Street

Dublin City Council is to rethink its proposal to ban charity shops from Grafton Street.

City Councillors voted on the proposal tonight after some claimed that 'lower end retail' is bringing the area down.

Charity shops aren't the only ones on the hitlist, the proposal puts forward a list of shops deemed unsuitable for the street, including sex shops, off-licenses and bookmakers.

There are currently only two charity shops operating in the area.
