A man has been shot in Dublin city centre. It is believed the shooting took place at around 10pm.

A man has been shot in Dublin city centre. The shooting took place at around 9.55pm.

The man was reportedly shot in the chest in the incident on Railway Street in Dublin's north Inner city.

Gardaí said initials investigations indicated the man received a number of gunshot wounds to the body.

He has been taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where his injuries are described as non life-threatening.
