Tánaiste Joan Burton has revealed that she had a "long conversation" with the Taoiseach about not calling an early General Election.
The Labour Party leader wants the poll to take place next Spring, but many in Fine Gael favour a November election.

Minister Burton said that she is clear that the Government has work to do such as passing Budget measures into law, and she impressed that upon the Taoiseach.
"I've always said we'd stay the course and do the five [years]," she said at the announcement that Workday is to create 100 jobs in Dublin.
