A man has been arrested in connection with a €26,000 seizure of Khat at Dublin Airport.

A man has been arrested in connection with a €26,000 seizure of Khat at Dublin Airport.

Revenue officers found the drugs hidden the bag of a 47-year-old man from Italy who was travelling from Addis Ababa.

He was arrested by the gardaí and investigations are continuing.

Khat is a flowering plant from East Africa and South West Arabia.

It contains an amphetamine-type substance and is mainly chewed.
