A Government Minister has insisted that the cost of installing water meters around the country will come in at or below its budget target.

Transport and Tourism Minister Paschal Donohoe says the lower figure was only an estimate, and he believes the final budget amount will be met.
"When the project went out to tender a budget estimate was put in of €539m, and it will come in on or below that budget," he said.
"I believe that a cost estimate will be delivered; all of this is being done to ensure we can have safe and secure water in the future."
