A 23-year-old man is due in court this morning charged in connection with an arson attack at a house in Ballybeg in Waterford last week.

A 23-year-old man is due in court this morning charged in connection with an arson attack at a house in Ballybeg in Waterford last week which left two children with severe burns.

Gregory Hennessy of 66, Priory Lawn, Waterford is accused of reckless endangerment and criminal damage following the fire at Ardmore Park last Thursday night.

Mr Hennessy previously appeared in court last week.

A second man was arrested yesterday in connection with the house fire.

The 17-year-old is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Waterford garda station.
