Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information to help identify the body of a man found in Galway two years ago.

Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information to help identify the body of a man found in Galway two years ago.

The remains of the man - believed to be in his 30s - were discovered in a wooded area near Barna on September 27, 2014.

Gardaí believe his remains may have lay undiscovered for between four and six weeks.

It is understood items in his possession indicate he may have traveled to the UK, Canada or the US before his death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardaí in Salthill.
