Bailey still 'a person of interest' in murder probe, court hears

Ian Bailey's High Court action has heard he is still "a person of interest" in the Sophie Toscan du Plantier murder investigation.

Retired Garda John Wilson is being cross examined about his assertion that up until 2012 the former journalist and his partner Jules Thomas were under a level of garda surveillance "reserved for active criminal offenders".

Under cross examination, Luan O'Braonain put it to the former garda that the du Plantier investigation was ongoing in the 2000s and that Mr Bailey remains "a person of interest".

Mr Wilson maintains the overall level of scrutiny was "oppressive".
