Gardaí have issued appeals for five young people who have gone missing from their homes in recent days.

The most recent appeal concerns Darnel Hayes Price, a 16-year-old from Cork.

Gardai in Anglesea Street are leading the investigations in Darnel’s disappearance. He was last seen on Wednesday at approximately 5pm at Merchant's Quay in the city centre.

Darnel is described as being 5’ 6’’ tall of slim build and with short brown hair. It is believed that he may be in the Limerick area.

Anyone who has seen Darnel or who can assist in locating him is asked to contact Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021-4522000.

Gardaí in Drogheda are trying to trace the whereabouts of Shannon Quaide who is also missing since Wednesday.

Shannon is 15 years of age and is described as being 5’ 8” in height and of slim build. She has brown eyes and brown hair with the ends dyed blonde/orange.

It is believed that Shannon may be in the Dublin area. Gardaí have serious concerns for her safety.

Anyone who has seen Shannon or who can assist in locating her is asked to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041-9874200.

Meanwhile, the Police Service of Northern Ireland is seeking assistance from the public to determine the whereabouts of 16-year-old Chelsea McGarry and 20-year-old Daire McIlroy, who they believe may be in the Republic.

Chelsea and Daire were last seen at Portadown Railway Station at around 6pm on Monday last and are believed to have boarded a train bound for Dublin.

Chelsea is described as being around 5'4" tall, of slim build with shoulder length blonde hair and is thought to have been wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and blue shoes when last seen.

Daire is around 5'3" tall, of stocky build with brown hair. He has a Celtic Roll tattoo on his neck and was wearing a navy Adidas sweatshirt, navy tracksuit bottoms and was carrying a blue rucksack.

The PSNI have appealed for anyone who knows of their whereabouts to contact the police on 04890 650222.

Gardaí are also renewing their appeal for assistance in tracing 15-year-old Adam Dunne.

Adam was last seen at 7pm on Monday last in Limerick city. He is 5’9’’ tall, of slim build with light brown hair and blue/green eyes. When last seen he was wearing a grey tracksuit bottoms, a grey hoodie top and a navy t-shirt.

Gardaí are very concerned for his well-being and are appealing for anyone who can assist in locating him to contact Roxboro Road Garda Station at 061 214340.

Anyone with information on any of the missing people can also contact the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

In the meantime, gardaí have located P.J. Murphy, a 49-year-old man from Wexford. He was found to be safe and well.
