There was a further decrease in the number of women giving Irish addresses at abortion clinics in the UK last year.

The HSE's crisis pregnancy programme annual report for 2013 has said it is the 12th year in which a decrease was recorded.

According to UK Department of Health figures, the number of Irish women having terminations there has decreased by 45% from 6,700 in 2001 to 3,700 in 2013.

The number of births to Irish teenagers has also fallen, with just under 1400 teens giving birth in 2013, that is a decline of 55% since 2001.
