Gardaí in Wexford have charged a 32-year-old man in connection with a robbery at a newsagents yesterday.

Gardaí in Wexford have charged a 32-year-old man in connection with a robbery at a newsagents yesterday.

Shortly after 5pm yesterday a man, armed with a knife, entered the shop in Enniscorthy and threatened staff.

He fled the scene with a large amount of cash. A suspect was arrested a short time later.

Gardaí were able to recover some of the money.

The man is due to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court this evening at 8pm.
