Police in the north are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a commercial premises in County Antrim.

Police in the north are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a commercial premises in County Antrim.

It is understood two males - one armed with a firearm - entered the premises in Newtownabbey just before 10pm last night.

They demanded money and cigarettes from the store before making off with a sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes in the direction of Ballyduff Road.

Detectives investigating the incident say staff were left shaken and are urging anyone with information to contact them.
