Gardai say they are treating the death of a woman in Co Louth yesterday as murder.
Marie Quigley, aged 68, was found dead with serious head injuries at the family home in Rathmore near Hackballscross yesterday afternoon.
It happened just hours after her husband, James Quigley, aged 69, died in a crash, after driving the wrong way on the M1 motorway, and collided with a truck and a car.
The couple's four children are requesting privacy to grieve their parents.
Local Sinn Fein Councillor Tomás Sharkey says the three people injured in the crash on the M1 are expected to make a full recovery.
