Dublin street closed  for several hours after fire above restaurant

Update: 5.55pm: Capel Street has now reopened to traffic.

A fire on Dublin's Capel street has been brought under control this evening.

Emergency services went to the scene of a fire on Dublin's Capel Street at 3pm this afternoon.

Four units of the Fire Service attended the blaze at an apartment above a Sushi restaurant.

One woman has been removed to hospital, it is understood she hurt her ankle while trying to get out of the premises when the fire took hold.

The services of the ESB have been requested on site and Capel Street was closed to traffic.
