Gardaí are continuing to investigate a fatal road accident in Co Kildare yesterday.

A 38-year-old man died when the four-by-four jeep he was driving collided with a ditch on the R408 at Ladychapel, in Maynooth at around 3.15pm yesterday afternoon.

A female passenger in the jeep was taken to Naas General Hospital for treatment on minor injuries.

There were no other cars were involved in the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station.
