Cuban aircraft departs Shannon after tyre problem forces overnight delay

A Cuban aircraft has departed from Shannon Airport after being delayed overnight.

It is understood passengers of the Cubana jet were stuck on the tarmac yesterday evening after a technical difficulty emerged during refueling.

The plane was en route to Havana from Madrid and had stopped at Shannon for planned refueling.

However, the approximately 300 passengers then spent last night in the Airport after an issue emerged with one of the plane's tyres.

It departed with all passengers on board at 4.40pm this afternoon.
