Missing dog found six months later, locked in a caravan, thanks to ISPCA and microchip
A dog missing for six months has been returned to his owner by the ISPCA after being found, living in squalor on a premises in West Cork.
Rusty was found in a caravan close to two other dogs tied with a very short rope to a wheel in a disused caravan.
The dogs were unable to move properly and were terrified. The animals were being forced to sleep and eat in their own faeces and urine.
ISPCA inspector Lisa O'Donovan said when they scanned Rusty they found he had been microchipped and further investigation found he had been reported missing in March by his owners in Cork city.
Rusty was reunited with his delighted owner and the other two dogs are now in the care of the ISPCA.
