Gardaí had to be called to a hotel in Co. Kerry last night after a large fight broke out at a wedding in Ballybunion.

Gardaí had to be called to a hotel in Co. Kerry last night after a large fight broke out at a wedding in Ballybunion.

Shortly after midnight fighting broke out involving up to 40 people.

Management at the hotel called Gardaí, and a large number from Listowel called to the scene where they came across a group of 20 fighting outside, and around 20 fighting inside.

The fighting was described as "violent".

Gardaí spent time breaking up the dispute, but no arrests were made and investigations are ongoing.
