Disclosures Tribunal: McCabe emails usually brought to attention of Minister as soon as possible - Private Secretary

The former private secretary of Frances Fitzgerald has told the Disclosures Tribunal that once you saw Maurice McCabe’s name on an email, you would ensure the Minister saw it as soon as possible.

The email in question outlined a garda strategy to call into question Sergeant McCabe’s motivation and credibility at the O’Higgins Inquiry.

However, Chris Quattrociocchi said that he does not remember receiving the email or speaking to the Minister about it.

Mr Quattrociocchi says the email would have been printed out and given to the Minister, and records show it was also forwarded on.

The Tánaiste resigned last November over questions about how much she knew about the strategy to discredit Sgt McCabe.
