It turns out that many of us spend more on our boyfriends or girlfriends at Christmas than our mammies.

A quarter of the shoppers surveyed by One4all gift cards spend more on their partner's present than on anyone else.

Two thirds of consumers spend up to €500 on Christmas presents, and more than a third start their shopping in November.
