A man has died in a collision involving a car and a motorcyclist in County Clare.

Man dies in Clare collision

A man has died in a collision involving a car and a motorcyclist in County Clare.

The crash happened on the Lisdoonvarna to Kilrush road, 8 km outside Kilrush this evening.

The male front seat passenger of one of the cars lost his life in the incident and his body has been taken to the morgue in Limerick.

While the male driver and a female passenger were also injured in the collision and taken to Galway University Hospital and Limerick Hospitals.

Their injuries are described as non life threatening.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured and is being treated at Limerick Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
