Gerry Adams has claimed the Taoiseach believes the Irish people "are stupid".
The Sinn Féin leader has said that is the only way to interpret Enda Kenny’s refusal to take questions on fiscal space earlier this week - when the Taoiseach said he wanted to avoid “jargon”.
Sinn Féin has called on the three major parties to withdraw their manifestos, saying it has exposed an error in their calculations.
Adams has said Kenny's refusal to discuss the finer details only means one thing.
“The Taoiseach refuses to even answer questions on this (fiscal space) because he claims and I quote ‘I’m not going to get into economic jargon which the vast majority of people do not understand’,” said Adams.
“So there you have it, according to the Taoiseach the people are stupid.”
