Gardaí have seized counterfeit DVD's and beauty products with an approximate street value of €70,000.

The goods were seized in a planned search at a premises on the Main St. in Cavan yesterday.

Two people, a man aged 32 and a 36-year-old woman, were arrested at the scene and are being held at Ballyconnell Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into counterfeit goods, and was carried out by Gardaí from the Crime Unit attached to Cavan Garda station, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Revenue Customs supported by IRMA.
