Kildare Street closed due to protest

There is increased security at Leinster House this evening over a protest in support of Greece.

Kildare Street has been closed to traffic after a number of protestors mounted a sit down protest including stopping a Dublin Bus on the road.

Gardaí also had to clear a path into Leinster House for former Minister Alan Shatter after a number of protestors surrounded his car.

A larger protest against water charges and in support of Greece is expected to begin at 6.30pm this evening.
