A 20-year-old man has been arrested for questioning in connection with a shooting incident at a house in Limerick city yesterday evening.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested for questioning in connection with a shooting incident at a house in Limerick city yesterday evening.

The man is the second held in connection with the incident, which occured at New Road, Thomond Gate at around 7.40pm yesterday evening when shots were fired at a house.

A woman aged 22 and two male teenagers were in the house at the time, but there were no injuries.

A motorbike was observed leaving the scene and gardaí arrested a male in his early 20s nearby. He was taken to Mayorstone Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

The second man was arrested shortly after midnight in Limerick city and is being detained at Roxboro Garda station.
