Brazil bank receives Pat Hickey's €400,000 bail

A Brazilian bank has received the €400,000 bond required to allow Pat Hickey to leave Brazil.

The money, which has been loaned by the Association of National Olympic Committees, will now have to pass through the banking system before being lodged with the court.

Once the court receives the bond, Mr Hickey will have his passport returned to him within five to seven days.

It's after a court ruled last month that the former president of the Olympic Council of Ireland could return to Ireland for medical treatment.

The 71-year-old denies allegations that he was involved in ticket touting at the Olympic games.
