Almost 400 people are waiting on a bed at hospitals across the country.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation claims 396 people are on trolleys and in overflow areas of wards.

According to the latest trolley watch report, Beaumont Hospital in Dublin is the most overcrowded with 39 people in need of a bed.

University Hospital Galway is next with 33 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards, while University Hospital Limerick has 30 patients waiting.
