A court has heard that a woman accused of killing her two-year-old son in south Dublin has been admitted to the Central Mental Hospital.
Hazel Waters is charged with murdering the toddler at their home in Ridge Hall, Ballybrack last week.
Hassan Khan's body was found inside an apartment at the Ridge Hall complex in Ballybrack on Thursday afternoon.
It is believed he was stabbed to death sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.
On Saturday, his mother, 46-year-old Hazel Waters, was brought to court charged with his murder.
During a short hearing, her solicitor said she did not want to be assessed by a psychiatrist.
However, the court ruled an assessment should be considered while she is in custody.
She was due to appear in court again this morning but Judge Michael Walsh was told she has since been admitted to the Central Mental Hospital.
It is understood she was moved there from the women's prison at Mountjoy yesterday.
Her case was adjourned for two weeks in her absence.
