An emergency motion to save the Poolbeg chimneys from demolition is to be put forward by Dublin councillors tonight.

An emergency motion to save the Poolbeg chimneys from demolition is to be put forward by Dublin councillors tonight.

The motion is to have the two stacks listed as protected structures.

It comes as a site review by the ESB is under way which could include taking down the towers.
